It says a lot about Hollywood that in the Sicario movies, Josh Brolin’s character is a villain.

I'm extraordinarily wary of Trump playing Special Forces Politics, instead of using the political moment to do something less spectacular to play Tough Guy President for the media and something more lasting. Special forces are a tactic, not a strategy. A strategy is what we need. The best long term solution is rebuilding conventional forces and deploying them on our soil to perform their most basic function-defending the nation's border, permanently, because "special operations" are not a permanent solution, but they make headlines. Headlines don't win wars.

Sheesh, so much doubt. Let ‘er rip! If Trump can actually do something with our jarheads and super military tech, it should be eradicating these cartels. These orgs keep Latin America poor and dangerous. We shouldn’t tolerate it.

Don't know how US could win such a war on cartel terror (the number of members of the drug cartels being about 175,000 overall) without pulling a Putin-in-Ukraine or a Netanyahu-in-Gaza and basically invading Mexico at a cost of hundreds of billions of dollars and maybe numerous terror attacks on the homeland. Besides, deaths from fentanyl seem to be down 25% simply as a result of Trump closing down the southern border. If you wanted to seriously decrease the number of unnecessary deaths in America, wouldn't it be more productive to start national efforts to reduce the consumption of ultra processed foods by half and slash the cost of cancer and heart disease medications (and the cost of health insurance)? You might be able to lower the death toll per year from heart disease, cancer, stroke, diabetes, etc. by a total of at least twice as many as an uncertain war on the cartels would save from accidental drug overdoses

This might increase the will for mass deportations even more if the cartels resort to guerrilla style attacks on supply lines in US territory. People will finally realize that most Mexicans are loyal to Mexicans and Mexico, and they hate the Amerikaner.

India may have the biggest population in the world but Mexicans have the biggest foothold inside America.

Nothing but bad, United States government makes the Mexican cartels look like Cub Scouts of the highest order The only reason the cartels exist is because the CIA wants them to
